14-jun-2007 | The education and the technology can walk together, even when it is a matter of children education. Prove of that was presented to students, parents, teachers and community, in this Thursday, in Unisc. The University course of Computation Degree, in partnership with the company Imply Electronic Technology and the School Educar-se, released the Robokit, a kit of educational robotics.
The idea of Robokit came a year ago, in the course of Computation Degree. "We wanted to create a product for the education that would be ours, because all of the products in this area are imported", explains professor Marcia Kniphoff da Cruz, course coordinator. The following step was to find a company that had the technology. "We find Imply and put the plan in practice. We are happy because today we have a product created for education, that unites logical knowledge and imagination", reinforced.
For the Unisc rector, Vilmar Thomé, the product merit is to integrate technology with children research. "The university expands its reach with innovations like this. One of our goals is to take it for other schools also", said. Imply director, Tironi Paz Ortiz, that accompanied the solemnity, detached the partnership and the result. "The partnership work with the university gave us a new learning. We hope that it will bring knowledge to the schools and children", observed.
It consists of a educational robotics kit that has an independent controler box (works without computer), small engines and leds (small lights). The box has its own colorful keyboard, proper for children and teens. Through programming, on that keyboard it is possible to control the engines and leds. The kit is ideal for the development of programming and robotics, animating models and invents of the basic education students. It is composed for four leds, two continuous motors and one step motor. The Robokit allows, yet, the programming of sounds, the repetition of commands and the elaboration of procedures. Robokit was put in practice in the School Educar-se, that validated the equipment. The commercialization of the product is made by Imply.
