Visit Santa Cruz do Sul

The city of Santa Cruz do Sul is located in the northeast hillside of Rio Grande do Sul state, 155 km far from Porto Alegre, the capital of the state. The total population is 120 thousand inhabitants.

Santa Cruz do Sul is the ple of Rio Pardo Valley, and the city economics is based on the treatment and industrialization of the tabacco. The product warrants a global projection for the town and its micro region, besides worldwide recognized indutries.

The tourism also distinguishes the city, being recognized to possess the larger Cathedral in neogothic style of latin america. The cathedral´s name is São João Batista and it is located in hearth of the city. The city is also known for being the headquarters of the largest Oktoberfest in Rio Grande do Sul, the headquarters of the largest festival of amateur art, according to UNESCO, the Meeting of Art and Tradition, and Santa Cruz do Sul International Autodrome.

The city also has the Santa Cruz do Sul Airport, and the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC).

Besides the tabacco pole, the municipal administration is creating incentives to diversify the city´s economy and one of this incentives was the creation of technological pole where nowadays Imply Tecnologia Eletronica is settled as the pioneer of the project.
